Shoe Fit: Narrow to Normal

Our Bergbruid Leather Ankle Boot takes its name from Serruria Florida, the local Protea flower more commonly known as the Bergbruid or Blushing Bride, which is found in the mountains of our neighbouring town of Franschhoek. Legend has it that many moons ago a gentleman would go search for a Bergbruid flower which he would wear in his lapel when he was about to propose to his true love.

Our ankle height leather boot, with its little raised heel, adds a bit of flair with its deep cut heel counter and our-Onyx folded style gusseted tongue (i.e. where the tongue forms part of the shoe upper instead of the standard shoe tongue which only fixed to the shoe vamp close to the toes). Our colour combination option is available on the (i) toe cap and (ii) vamp and tongue. Premium performance cushioning insole and rubber sole.

Made in Sunny South Africa (close to the Mountains where the Bergbruid is found).

We love to make shoes. Leather ones to be specific. We love to make them in different colours (which you can chose). Each of our leather products is an extension of our passion in the art of shoemaking and leather-craftsmanship.

We make each shoe on order, allowing you to add some personality to each pair by choosing your colour combination from more than 30 different coloured leathers. To put into context: just for a single shoe with 2 parts, you have more than 900 colour combinations (for our 3 part shoes, that is more than 27 000 combinations! This allows for either a subtle colour accent; a bold colour statement; or the perfect palette balance in between.

Our online shopping bag makes it easy to set out the various shoe elements which you can colour per shoe with sets out the various colour options available as well as other add-ons. For our colour combination set, please also see our product listing.

We believe in the use of quality components in our manufacturing. One of the key quality features of our shoes is the premium performance cushioning insoles, which provides for even pressure distribution across the foot and aims to make light of long days on your feet.
